Specification of the Blacksmith:The Blacksmith stair rods are made from solid steel and have integral finials (decorative ends). Each one is individually beaten into shape when hot, left to cool and then given a protective coating, to prevent rust. They are supplied with a pair of universal brackets and screws, in a co-ordinating finish.
Three Blacksmith designs:The three Blacksmith stair rods Ball, Spear and Flat, have been designed by Northumbrian Blacksmith Rodney Brittain. He has given them a simplicity of design, which makes them equally suited to a rustic, period property as a modern town house and they are a perfect example of the continuing tradition of decorative wrought ironwork in the UK.
Suitability:Ideal for both runners or fitted stair carpets and natural flooring. They are also suitable for both stair runners and fitted carpets plus straight and winding steps.
Dimensions & fitting:The Blacksmith rods come in a variety of lengths. For advice on the correct length to order, please go to Measuring & Fitting Rods. It is important to note that, like most stair rods, the Blacksmith rods are purely decorative and do not fix the carpet to the stairs: your flooring must be secured by another means of installation.
Cleaning Blacksmith stair rods:Each rod has an invisbile lacquer, to protect and keep it looking pristine. Simply wipe clean from time to time and do not polish.
Delivery:Delivery is free of charge in the UK for orders over £50.00. The standard delivery time is around 5 working days.
Style tips:Fitting the stair rod to the bottom step (hall or landing level) is a popular option, as it helps create a visually balanced look. A useful idea to keep your carpets clean is installing a Wellington Boot Rack in your hall - these match the Blacksmith range and are invaluable!
