Specification for the Akeman stair rods:

The Akeman Pro stair rods are made from high grade solid brass, which results in an outstanding, superior finish, as specified by professional interior designers and architects. Each Akeman rod features integral finials (decorative ends), which are hand-cut with fine decorative detailing, and is supplied with a pair of solid brass brackets with screws in a co-ordinating finish. Choose from 3/8" (9mm) diameter or 1/2" (12mm) diameter for standard width staircases found in a typical home, or 5/8" (16mm) diameter rods for extra wide staircases typically found in hotels, public buildings or unusually large residential houses with wide feature staircases.

Finishes:

There are five top quality finishes: polished brass, antique brass, antique bronze, bright chrome plate and satin chrome plate. The high grade of the base brass combined with the hand-finishing results in a consistent and extremely high calibre finish, across all the different metal effects. The quality is excellent and the best we have come across.

Suitability:

It is important to note that like most stair rods, the Akeman Pro rods are purely decorative and do not fix the carpet to the stairs: your flooring must be secured by another means of installation.

Cleaning your Akeman stair rods:

The Akeman Professional require an occasional clean, which is easily carried out by removing the rods from the brackets and polishing. The brackets are lacquered and do not require polishing.

Delivery:

This collection is made to order: we aim to deliver the polished brass finish within 7 working days and the other finishes will take up to 14 working days. Please allow longer for non mainland UK deliveries. Delivery is free of charge for most mainland orders.

Style tips:

Fitting a stair rod to the bottom step (hall or landing level) is a popular option, as it helps to create a visually balanced look. We can supply curved rods for bottom step(s), as special orders - please ask for further details.

Co-ordinating accessories:
