Tubular Heaters

  • Our tubular heater is called the Original Tubular Heater as it is designed with performance and quality in mind and is made by the UK company Tubeheat, the original tubular heater manufacturer. Our tubular heating comes in various sizes and gives off 80W (watts) of heat per foot, which is much more than other makes. For higher output you may find it more economical to purchase a Double, Triple or Quad version in a shorter length, rather than an extra long Single heater.

  • If you want to maintain the heat efficiency of your tubular heater, do not paint it, as this will reduce its effectiveness.

  • Tubular heaters are ideal for the home, in outbuildings and as a greenhouse heater - the Original Tubular Heater specification is suitable for all locations and you can choose whether you need a guard or not.

  • Make sure you protect your heater from any greenhouse automatic sprinkler system, as they are splash proof only e.g. position it out of reach or install beneath a protective shelf.
  • Stair Rods and Door Thresholds

  • If you would like a small-sized sample sent to you in the post before ordering, then do get in touch and we will be pleased to send it to you, free of charge.

  • There are many alternative names for a door threshold including Z bar, door bar, door threshold bars and carpet door bars - we sell a range to cover all eventualities.

  • Likewise, stair rods are frequently referred to as carpet rods, stairrods and carpet stair rods; they are all the same thing and are commonly fitted on carpets, natural flooring and flatweave flooring.

  • Don't forget to order a Stair Rods, for the very bottom of your staircase, at ground level, for a balanced look.

  • Consider the finish of other fixtures and fittings, such as door furniture and light fittings, when choosing your stair rods and door thresholds.

  • For a subtle effect, choose a metal or wood finish stair rod or door bar, which matches the colour of your flooring, or choose one of the matt finishes such as wood, pewter, antique brass, black or satin nickel. For a stronger décor statement consider the polished brass or chrome finishes.

  • Many staircases in older properties are not straight, so do check the measurement of each stair rod, before ordering.

  • Stair rods and clips can not only be used on carpet runners, but also flat weaves and natural flooring such as sisal or coir.

  • Stair rods, door thresholds and carpet studs can easily be fitted onto an existing carpet. This is a great way of pepping up a tired runner.

  • Stair rods can create an illusion of width. So, if your staircase is narrow, fitting a stair runner and rods will open it up.

  • Applying Easy Bind to stair runners is a simple technique to master, and one which you can then use to make rugs of various sizes, in a matching carpet design or colour.
